Frank Helmholz, Founder and Owner of Cornerstone, began his stonework apprenticeship in Germany at the age of seventeen. Over the next 25 years he perfected his art by restoring German and French castles, churches and manors. He also worked on such major projects as the Pont De Bercy, a bridge over the Seine in Paris and on the restoration of the Basilica of St Denis in Paris.
More recently he is overseeing the rebuilding of a 12th century Cistercian chapter house in Northern California.
Extensive travels in many countries enabled him to take thousands of photos showing stone work details and architectural ensembles in many different styles and periods. This image library, created with the eye of the Master Mason serves as the inspiration for many of his designs.
As a Master Mason and Sculptor, he continues this truly ancient tradition, bringing the quality and beauty of old world craftsmanship to you.
